Why the DoD and Commercial Entities Continue to Seek SealingTech Innovation

07:23:2025

Developing just another defensive cyber solution has never been enough for us. We solve the hurdles that plague our customers; solutions that get noticed, get adopted, and advance the mission. It’s why we’re always looking for ways to introduce our innovations to new customers and help them advance their defensive cyber capabilities.

So, we were thrilled for the opportunity to take part in the latest episode of Parsons’ Meet the Mission podcast: Cyber at the Edge: SealingTech’s Superpowered Hunt Kits featuring our Chief Product Officer, Brad Hatcher, and Director of Innovation, Andres Giraldo.

Understanding Our Customers’ Needs Better than Most

Both Brad and Andres are US Navy veterans. Like several members of the SealingTech team, comprised of veterans from all branches of the military and current active members of the Reserve, they’ve experienced firsthand the pain points of not having the right defensive cyber tools on hand to complete a critical mission and needing vendors or contractors to come in and support their needs.

Because of our military background, Brad says, “Living through that goes a long way in recognizing and being able to quickly meet the needs of our customers.”

In addition to our team’s military legacy, it’s our unique approach that sets SealingTech apart and has made us an invaluable partner for our customers.

Rapid Innovation and Speed

Advancing customer defensive cyber capabilities takes agility and the ability to pivot quickly when necessary.

“Because (SealingTech) is so agile,” says Andres, “we can rapidly build prototypes to solve those pain points and provide mission success which makes everyone happy. We’ve actually heard that feedback from customers, where they gave an idea to 10 different vendors and we were the only one to take it seriously and come back with a prototype. I think that’s been a huge differentiator for us, rapid innovation and the agility to move that fast.”

“There are times that our customer needs (a solution) and we can turn it around in weeks or a month or two and come back with a prototype that they can get into production a few weeks later,” adds Brad. “Larger vendors have benefits, but often their processes take longer, and they just can’t do that kind of innovation at speed.”

Building the Prototype

Examples of SealingTech’s Cyber-Fly-Away Kits

Since developing its first Cyber-Fly-Away Kit in 2018, SealingTech has honed its Kits, adapting them to meet the evolving needs of its customers and become a trusted resource across the Joint Force worldwide. In March 2025, the company was awarded a DIU contract to support the development of their Joint Cyber Hunt Kit (JCHK) prototype.

“We’ve been providing Kits to all military branches over the past seven years, and there was a need to consolidate and enhance interoperability between the branches,” says Andres. “Our team of experts including prior CPTs and engineers over the past year have worked to support the standardization of the Kit that the Cyber Mission Forces will use.

“The solution needed to include a lot of innovation, more agility, and more modularity. With networks getting larger, attacks becoming more complex, we were faced with building innovation into one Kit to meet that increasing demand. We were building Fly-Away Kits with over a petabyte of storage which still amazes me, pushing a 100 gigabits per second network speeds. All of these software innovations combined with how to detect living off the land techniques went into creating the next generation Fly-Away Kit.”
