Managing International Deliveries in an On-Demand World

With cyber threats continuing to grow in scale and sophistication, delivering cybersecurity capabilities to allied nations has become a critical component of collective defense. Through SealingTech’s international efforts via foreign military sales (FMS) and direct commercial sales (DCS), we’ve learned that success isn’t defined by what ships; rather, it’s defined by what arrives ready to support the mission with minimal delay.

International Deliveries in an On-Demand World

Every deployment at SealingTech requires careful coordination across export compliance, logistics, system configuration, customer communication, and operational readiness.

For SealingTech, international deliveries involve far more than moving hardware from one location to another. Every deployment requires careful coordination across export compliance, logistics, system configuration, customer communication, and operational readiness. As our international business expands, we continue to refine our processes, learning valuable lessons that help ensure successful outcomes for our customers around the world.

Continuously Learning and Adapting to Export Controls

Navigating the complexities of international trade compliance including export administration regulations (EAR), export control classification number (ECCN) licensing requirements, and country-specific restrictions have not always been easy and it can be a long process.

While the regulations can introduce delays, they play a critical role in protecting sensitive technologies and enabling collaboration with trusted allies and partners.

With ever-evolving global trade regulations, SealingTech has developed a structured framework for current and future products to make it easier to manage export compliance and work with our international allies.

Lessons Learned from International Deliveries

Like many organizations operating globally, we have encountered challenges that provide valuable learning opportunities.

During a recent international deployment, we were reminded the regional requirements for hardware accessories significantly impact mission readiness and delivery timeline. Simple differences in power cord plugs can stop the user before even starting. This required SealingTech to adjust quickly to accommodate these new requirements to avoid additional delays.

We also learned an invaluable lesson: where a customer intends to use a solution is just as important as understanding what they ordered.

As a result, we strengthened our internal review processes, improved configuration validation, and increased cross-functional collaboration earlier in the delivery lifecycle. These improvements helped reduce risk and ensured that our customer received mission-ready solutions aligned with their operational needs.

The Importance of Constant Communication

Another lesson we’ve learned from international deliveries is the importance of proactive communication. Success depends on strong coordination across sales, product, operations, and logistics teams when faced with compliance reviews, supply chain constraints, or other external factors.

International Deliveries in an On-Demand World

It’s important to understand how a customer prefers to communicate; some overseas customers find secure messaging applications more accessible and will respond faster.

One instance highlighted the importance of understanding how our customer communicates. We realized some overseas customers find secure messaging applications more accessible, thus making them more likely to respond in a faster timely manner.

Knowing your customer’s preferences can be as important as the delivery itself in keeping them informed throughout the process. Maintaining regular updates help sustain transparency, build trust, and ensure customers remain confident even when timelines are impacted by factors outside of your team’s control.

Continuous Improvement Drives Operational Success

Every international delivery provides an opportunity for our team to be proactive, anticipating regional regulation changes, and being agile in accommodating them. Whether refining export processes, enhancing logistics planning, validating regional requirements, or strengthening communication, each experience helps build a more resilient and efficient delivery.

International deliveries are about more than shipping equipment; they’re about ensuring capabilities arrive expected, operational, and ready to support the mission.

Through careful planning, compliance, collaboration, and continuous improvement, SealingTech continues to strengthen its ability to support allied and partner nations around the world.
