Two Journeys of Growth: Our SealingTech CASTLE Internship Experience

This summer, I have had the privilege of interning at SealingTech through its Cyber Advancement for Students, Leaders, and Engineers (CASTLE) Program along with fellow college undergrad, Eugene Cho. Under the CASTLE Program, interns get to collaborate with SealingTech colleagues working on projects, learning new software, and adopting industry etiquette. 

For National Intern Day, the company is highlighting the progress Eugene and I have made during our time here. Here are some of our recent achievements and exciting wins thus far.  

Hitting the Ground Running in Marketing 

As a rising senior at Towson University in Maryland pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration, I’m honored to be SealingTech’s first Marketing intern. I arrived at a very exciting time, joining the team shortly before their official launch of the Zepharis™ Software Suite. The weeks leading up to the multimedia campaign were hectic, but I was able to integrate quickly thanks to the abundant support of my teammates. 

This internship has been a transformative experience both personally and professionally. Before my arrival, it was difficult to track marketing trends and measure impact. I closed that gap by bringing a data analytics approach to marketing. So far, I’ve created organized dashboards that give the marketing team real-time visibility into campaign performance, drafted ad launches using Google Ads, and analyzed monthly data trends to support the team’s decision-making.  I’ve also worked alongside my colleagues to write blogs, design graphics, and develop social media strategies. Becoming a part of the team has allowed me to expand my interpersonal communication skills, learn new software, and become a confident presenter.

That data-driven approach let me quantify marketing’s contributions to company growth with real metrics, giving the team a clear view of which strategies actually work. This allows us to expand SealingTech’s reach and directly supports our mission of getting critical infrastructure protection to those who need it. 

Through consistent practice and experimentation, I’ve been able to navigate this new position with a fluidity I never could’ve expected. While here, I’ve mastered analytical software I was previously intimidated by in college, and I’ve created bonds I’ll cherish forever. I am especially thankful for the guidance and hospitality of my team, who have encouraged me every step of the way to maximize my experience at SealingTech. I genuinely find joy in my work and hope to come back next year! 

Hands-On Learning and Real-World Engineering Experience 

Eugene Cho is a senior at University of California, Davis earning a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He’s excited to join SealingTech as an Engineering Intern this summer. He and his team are currently working on the design and implementation of the Zepharis™ Software Suite comprised of Zepharis™ AI and Zepharis™ Kit Deployer.

What drew him to SealingTech was a desire to broaden his technical range and seek mentorship from skilled engineers in an environment that fosters growth. Immediately he felt welcomed by his colleagues and saw how leadership both guides him and gives him autonomy in his decisions. During his time here, he has quickly deepened his technical work, bonded with his team, and developed his skills as an engineer. 

Eugene says, “I came to SealingTech with one goal: to grow as an engineer. I wanted to expand my technical knowledge and learn in an environment that would truly push me. What I received was far greater than that. I was given real ownership, one-on-one mentoring and support, and the freedom to chase the things I genuinely care about. I came here to get sharper technically, and somewhere along the way I grew in more directions than I expected. I’m really grateful for the experience and to the people I’ve met and learned from, and it’s something I’ll carry with me beyond the internship.” 

During his internship, Eugene took end-to-end ownership of new capabilities for Zepharis AI: writing product requirements, prototyping interfaces, and implementing them in production. He created a context visibility feature that gives operators real-time insight into how our software is working with their data, enhancing the tool’s transparency and dependability in the field. He also improved deployment and backend capabilities, making the platform more stable for the engineering team and end users alike.
