Enhancing Customer Experience: Our Commitment to Quality

Delivering innovative defensive cyber solutions starts with a commitment to quality. A commitment that continues to build trust and strengthen a customer’s experience. Maintaining ISO 9001:2015 enables SealingTech to meet our customers’ requirements and ensure their satisfaction. That’s why we’re proud to share the successful completion of our latest ISO 9001 Surveillance Audit. For our federal government and private enterprise customers, it’s a strong affirmation of the care, consistency, and accountability our dedicated team brings to every layer of our work. 

What Is an ISO 9001 Surveillance Audit? 

An ISO 9001 surveillance audit is a routine check-up performed by an external auditor on behalf of an accredited certification body. Its purpose is to confirm that SealingTech’s Quality Management System (QMS) continues to meet ISO 9001 requirements so we can keep improving our quality and capabilities for our customers. 

Audits typically occur annually and focus on ensuring that our processes are not only documented, but also actively followed, effectively maintained, continually improved, and consistently aligned with both our customers’ and regulatory expectations. 

What Is a Quality Management System—and Why ISO 9001? 

SealingTech’s Quality Management System (QMS) is the structured framework we use to ensure our products, services, and processes meet both our customers’ mission-critical needs and regulatory expectations. It’s designed to promote consistency, reduce risk, and drive continual improvement across our organization. 

We follow the ISO 9001 standard—an internationally recognized model for building effective, scalable QMS programs. ISO 9001 helps ensure we operate efficiently, deliver reliably, and stay focused on what matters most: quality, security, and maintaining overall customer satisfaction. 

Our QMS is built on three core components: Quality Management, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control—each playing a distinct but interconnected role in how we uphold excellence at every level (see Figure 1).

Our approach to quality isn’t just structured—it’s value-driven. The principles that guide our QMS are formally outlined in our Quality Policy, shown in Figure 2.

How Does the Audit Work at SealingTech? 

Our most recent surveillance audit was a true cross-functional effort. Key departments—including Operations, Purchasing, Contracts, Product Development, Finance, and Business Development—played critical roles. Leadership across the company participated alongside team members who contributed interviews, documentation, and insights into how our systems operate day to day. 

While the audit itself spanned just a couple of days, it reflected months of preparation and years of steady work. More than a checklist, it was a chance to demonstrate how our processes work in practice—how we manage risk, uphold quality, and deliver consistent results for our customers. 

What Were the Results? 

We’re proud to report that the audit resulted in zero major findings and just one minor issue—an excellent outcome by industry standards. 

The minor finding pointed to an opportunity to strengthen our supplier vetting process and supporting documentation. While our relationships with key suppliers were already strong, we saw the need for more formalized records and clearly defined approval roles. The auditor’s feedback aligned with improvements already in progress and gave us a chance to accelerate our efforts. 

In response, we: 

  • Updated our Supplier Evaluation procedure to define specific criteria, formal responsibilities, and recordkeeping requirements. 
  • Launched a dedicated Supplier Log to track approval details and decision history. 
  • Performed a retroactive review of previously approved high-risk suppliers using our enhanced process. 
  • Brought together stakeholders from QA, Operations, Business Development and Management, Purchasing, Contracts, and Finance to ensure full alignment. 
  • Drafted a new Supplier Financial Verification instruction to further reinforce compliance. 

We moved quickly to contain the issue and implement improvements. The result? A stronger, more resilient supplier management system. One minor finding, and a cascade of improvements—because at SealingTech, we don’t just meet requirements; we use every insight to raise the bar. 

What Does This Mean for Our Customers? 

Passing a surveillance audit with strong results reaffirms the integrity of the systems we’ve built—and the value we deliver to every customer, every day. This translates to: 

  • Greater Reliability: Our operations are structured, traceable, and regularly audited to ensure consistent, high-quality performance. 
  • Fewer Issues, Caught Sooner: Our internal tracking helps us spot and resolve more potential issues early—before they affect our customers’ experience. 
  • Faster, Smoother Delivery: Clear, standardized procedures reduce delays, prevent rework, and keep customer projects moving forward 
  • Stronger Security Support: A quality management system grounded in ISO 9001 principles strengthens our cybersecurity posture through built-in accountability and process control. 
  • Ongoing Improvement: SealingTech does not just maintain what works—we’re continuously improving, so the service our customers receive today continues on an upward trajectory. 

Evolving with Our Customers’ Needs 

At SealingTech, audits aren’t just about passingthey’re about learning. This recent audit gave us a fresh insight into where we’re strong and where we can grow. It also validated that the improvements we’re investing in are moving us in the right direction. As our customers’ needs evolve, it’s imperative that we have systems in place allowing us to evolve our products and procedures right along with them. 

Having a third-party expert evaluate our systems helps us sharpen our focus, challenge assumptions, and push our standards even higher.

Continuous Improvement in Action 

The audit was a milestone, but the real work continues. Recent improvements to our QMS include: 

  • Launching our upgraded Internal Audit Program, which includes company-wide process audits throughout the year. 
  • Enhancing our Corrective Action System to support deeper root cause analysis and long-term resolution. 
  • Introducing our Process Quality Analysis program, designed to empower subject matter experts across the company to help improve the processes they use every day. 
  • Strengthening training and communication, so employees understand where they fit into the QMS—and how their actions contribute to SealingTech’s success. 

All of these initiatives—from internal audits to nonconformance tracking to training—are part of a larger, connected system. At SealingTech, our QMS goes beyond compliance. It makes quality visible, collaborative, and impactful—not just during audits, but every day. 

Figure 3 below illustrates how our programs and culture work together under the ISO 9001 framework to reduce defects, improve satisfaction, and drive real operational results.
