SealingTech recently completed a successful recertification audit and renewal of our ISO 9001:2015 certificate, resulting in zero non-conformities during a weeklong external evaluation. Over the past three years, ISO 9001:2015 has helped us achieve our goal in consistently providing reliable, quality products and services for the federal government and large enterprises. Implementing ISO 9001:2015 quality management procedures has never been more vital in ensuring quality and to help protect our customers’ networks and systems from cyberattacks.

“ISO 9001 quality management system’s forward thinking allows us to be proactive in our approaches. In the rare case that problems or customer concerns arise, it lays the framework for us to make improvements. It also lends to visibility and documentation into processes that allow us to pass along assurance to our customers by providing a quality product.”

Our federal government and enterprise customers have come to depend on that level of consistency in our cybersecurity solutions to safeguard their missions and livelihoods.

Importance to Cybersecurity

Implementing a good quality management system (QMS) like ISO 9001 becomes imperative in cybersecurity for achieving consistency and quality across all products and services. It establishes routine quality checks and verification for different levels and types of products during the multiple stages in their lifecycle. For example, it accesses design, procurement, assembly, kitting, delivery, and post-sales support to ensure security and quality measures continue to be met.

SealingTech lays the framework and procedures through ISO 9001 to attain secure suppliers, maintain a resilient supply chain, and facilitate government compliances like the Trade Agreement Act (TAA). With cybersecurity attacks on the rise globally, securing components from approved countries and extending receiving inspection and applying the latest firmware updates are essential.

“ISO 9001 supports us in standardizing and simplifying job functions to create efficiency and minimize errors which is a key to having a successful operation. That, combined with our team’s creative mindset creates a successful business.”
– Andrew Turner, Logistics and Inventory Manager

Procedures remain in place to enable consistency and traceability across all our SealingTech assembled products. Once they’re completed, our in-house automated testing confirms that the latest firmware is applied to all subcomponents and that our systems operate as intended under stress. Should non-conformities arise at any step in the process, our team handles them in a very controlled manner to make sure only the highest quality products make it to our customers.

We physically secure equipment after testing to minimize possible tampering and provide a secure delivery to customers. We document every step along the way to add assurances that what our customers receive is well vetted and secure. SealingTech’s customer support also follows the same rigorous procedures to help make sure customer data and equipment are secure and work as intended after a customer receives the product.

“Quality can never be inspected into a product; it must be built in from the beginning. That doesn’t mean everything will be perfect 100% of the time. When things don’t go as planned, ISO 9001 provides the framework and opportunity to improve our products and processes even further.”
– Andrew Witt, Product Operations, Production Manager
